• Key Hosta Care Tips:
  • Light: While they prefer partial to full shade, some varieties (especially lighter or yellow-leafed ones) can tolerate more sun, whereas blue-leafed varieties require more shade to prevent waxy coating damage.
  • Watering: Consistently moist soil is crucial. Water at least once a week, and up to twice in hotter weather. Deep, infrequent watering is better than shallow, frequent watering.
  • Soil & Planting: They prefer rich, well-draining soil with plenty of organic matter. Plant in spring or early fall.
