  • Knock Out roses are low-maintenance, drought-tolerant shrubs requiring full sun (6+ hours), well-drained soil, and deep watering at the base weekly. Prune annually in early spring to 12–18 inches high to encourage growth, though they can be shaped anytime. While disease-resistant, they benefit from annual composting or fertilizer and pest control for beetles
  • Key Care Guidelines
    • Planting: Choose a sunny spot and ensure the soil is well-drained. Plant them so the base is level with the soil and avoid placing them too deep.
    • Watering: Water at the base of the plant in the morning to avoid foliage diseases like black spot. During the first few weeks, water 3x a week, then reduce to 1-2x per week once established, aiming for deep, slow watering.
    • Light: Full sun (at least 6-8 hours) is necessary for the best, most consistent blooms.
    • Fertilizing: While not strictly necessary, you can apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring. Avoid fertilizing late in the summer, as this can encourage new growth that won't survive the winter.
    • Pruning: The best time to prune is early spring, right after the last frost. Cut them back by about one-third, or down to 12–18 inches, to maintain a bushy shape.
    • Maintenance: These roses are "self-cleaning," meaning you don't need to remove dead flowers (deadheading) for them to rebloom, but it can encourage more flowers.
    • Winter Care: Add 2–3 inches of mulch around the base in colder climates for protection
